THE DIARY
Spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season, I take as many appointments as I can measure, fit, and approve myself — and no more. There is no booking system, and there won't be one; the diary is kept by hand, and when it opens, I write first to the people who have left their names below.
Four times a year, the diary opens.
THE VISIT
The appointment happens wherever you are.
Your home, your office, a hotel if you’re travelling. It takes about an hour.
Thirty measurements, taken by my own hand — both shoulders, both arms, because they will not match; they never do. Then the questions the tape can't answer: what your days ask of a jacket, which shoulder carries the bag, what the weather does where you live. We look at cloth together — I bring the books — and by the end of the hour the garment is designed. Yours, on paper, before anything is cut.
THE RECORD
Everything from that hour is kept.
Your thirty measurements, the pattern I designed for you, the notes on how you stand and what you carry - all of it stays on file at the atelier.
When you order again, we begin from the record, not from the beginning. A shirt can be made from a conversation. And when your body changes, as bodies do, the record changes with it.
